1 cute session

Just this week, I had the pleasure of doing the 2nd session in the Watch me Grow series for Ms Ximena Torres. This session was a pleasure-until I had to edit the 200+ images down to a resonable number. Every shot was so adorable! Her big brown eyes never teared or lost their twinkle. Here are a few of my favorites.

Volunteering

This weekend Marcy (my fiance) and I worked on a Habitat home in Greensboro along with several other members of our church-South Elm Baptist. We were able to get all the roof trusses in place and the roofing boards nailed in place. The future home owner, along with his son were there, working right along with all of the volunteers.

Simply B&W

Not to long ago I was looking through some antique black and white photographs. Some of them were vignetted(vin-yet-ed) in white. In those days it was very difficult to get that look. Most times it was done in the darkroom process. Having cut my teeth in the darkroom I know how difficult it was to achieve this look. It involved having a piece of black cardboard with a hole in it. The printer would hold the cardboard under the enlarger head so that light would pass through the hole but the light would be blocked from reaching the paper around the edges. Thus leaving your edges white. But you had to be a steady hand and not have the cardboard to close or to far from the paper.

This is a classic Portrait look that was popular with traditional painters of Portraits centuries ago.

I call it Simply Black and White. If it is time for portraits of your children ask us about including this look in your next session with us.
